Our second event was held May 21, 2017 in partnership with Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Courage Kenny continues to advance in the area of neurological rehabilitation, and through our events, we aim to provide additional funding for their efforts.
We hosted another 5k Fun Walk along the trails of Lake Minnetonka that began and ended at Excelsior Brewing Company in downtown Excelsior. Participants enjoyed live music by TC Ortberg, food catered by Kowalski's Markets with dessert donated by DairyQueen. Twin Cities companies such as Twins Baseball, MN State Fair, KoKo Fit and MN Pro PaintBall, to name just a few, pitched in with amazing raffle prizes. And the generousity of local small businesses such as, StormSister Spatique, Karin Jacobson Jewelry, Sihouette Jewelry, Golden Rule, Kajo Inscriptions, Excelsior Candle, Minny & Paul, and Tumblewalla was overwhelming! And not to forget our four-legged walkers, Amelia & Holly's Dog Snacks were on hand to keep their tummy's full.
We also owe a HUGE THANK YOU to the incredible volunteers from Gay for Good who kept the day running smoothly - we could not have done it without them!!
We are happy to report we raised another $2000 for Courage Kenny through t-shirt sales, raffle sales and direct donations.
We would like to thank Maria Hokanson for sharing her story with us, helping spread the word and supporting this event. We look forward to partnering with her and her family again next year.
Lastly, but importantly, we would like to thank Jennie Sewell of Sewell Photography for lending us her talents behind the lens and capturing the moments of the day. Thank you, Jennie, for preserving our memories of such an incredible day!
And we look forward to next year!!
