Ependymoma
Ependymomas make up less than 2% of the thousands of tumors diagnosed each year.
This one was classified as Intradural Intramedullary Ependymoma - meaning it is within the spinal cord itself.
Such tumors affect mobility, muscle weakness, dysfunction or loss in sensory signals and incontinence. Patients are left navigating a new normal among these side effects as they can be permanant.
Connections with other patients, families and their communities are vital to the recovery process.
Walk with us on Sept. 22.
